I’ve hinted at this storyline before and working on the Hammerhead Lincoln mini-comic for most of last year took my attention away from this project for a little while. Now it’s time to start this storyline that I’ve been really excited about for years now.
It’s late spring and my Spotify playlists just keep on happening. Playlist creation is getting terribly addicting and its just too easy to keep adding more and more lists depending on the current mood.
Looking back over the last ten or so lists…and it’s like looking at a biorhythm chart of where I’ve been mentally since the new year. There’s some rock and droll…there’s a whole lot of electronic music whether it is hip hop or ambient, and there is a whole lot of weird fully represented.
As I review my playlists, I’m now realizing I should probably look into delete a fair of them as either they contain numerous repeated songs from more critical playlists or the meaning of the list has now been totally lost on me.
The list below has been in pretty heavy rotation for at least the last two, if not, last three months. Some editing is still needed but this is an excellent snapshot of the space I create as I’m working on Podscape. I’m about to dive into another period of story creation and will have this one on 11. Now just have to poset the recent batch of comics.
Today I did a little time travel…I went back to the good old bad days of 1998 and was updating Podscape’s CMS live on the production site and relearned one of the central reasons on why we don’t do that anymore…if something is going to go wrong…it definitely will. So the site came down for a few hours and almost looked like it wasn’t going to come back in any kind of quick time frame.
One of the good things is everything is updated but my custom Podscape CSS died in the process. I tried a couple of tricks to bring it back, but nothing worked. It had been THAT long since the last time I updated the site. One of my original Drupal dev blogs died a horrible death for the very same reason. Drupal had moved on to newer versions and I couldn’t update the site through a script anymore.
So today is about trade-offs…the custom CSS is gone, but the site is working. All the links seemingly flow and the comic navigation is active again, not to mention the comics are showing!
I’m about to launch a whole new responsive look and feel so we’ll just live with this version for a little bit longer til I can get the new UX/UI out of testing and launched.
Please let me know if you find any issues in the site in the meantime.
